This well organised volume contains 203 yet largely unpublished tablets from 16 Japanese collections originating from Lagas, Nippur, Puzris-Dagan, Umma and several Mesopotamian sites unlocated to date. The bulk of these documents dates back to the Ur III period, with a few earlier (Early Dynastic, Akkadian) and more recent samples (Old and Neo-Babylonian). Full transcriptions and neatly drawn copies of the individual documents are followed by indices (names of deities and deified kings, geographic and topographic terms, vocabulary and professions).
